Sam Yamoah returned from his trip to Africa, and he brought back a splendid banner to add to our collection. It gives one pause when you gaze upon this and the hundreds of banners from around the world. Leaders joined by a common goal of improving one's community and the world for the greater good. At left, Sam poses with a laminated copy of the Telegraph Herald front page on which Sam appeared in an article about his participation in community service activities. |

January 10, 2012: Rotarians Ken Snodgrass and Alan Vincent are members of SCORE which has evolved into a bold network of executives and entrepreneurs available to help small businesses meet their destinies. It was a fascinating presentation to fellow Rotarians, and perhaps you could use the services of a SCORE volunteer. The mentoring opportunity might be just what you need to take it to the next level. And according to Ken and Alan, they could use more mentors. It's a chance for you to send the elevator back down. |

January 3, 2012: Julia Nunez Ribot, our Rotary Club Youth Exchange Student from Spain gave a presentation this week, and Marlene Wickham was on hand to lend support. Marlene is Julia's host mother. In many ways, Julia is a typical high school teen. But in Spain it is apparent that she lives the life of a modern European youth with certain responsibilities and opportunities that are not available to American teens until much later. Nonetheless, Julia loves America and Americans very much and she has had many wonderful experiences while attending high school in Dubuque. You must listen to her presentation which is part of our weekly audio recorded each and every meeting. |
